Target Growth Areas with the Low Poverty Index on Radius+

Written by James McLean

James McLean is the Head of Business Development at Radius+. James helps maintain external relationships with clients and assisting internally with the sales process. He also, manages internal data processes working alongside the operations team to ensure we are supporting high level data quality.

The Radius+ team is excited to announce our newest feature layer release- the low poverty index. This layer captures the depth and intensity of poverty in a neighborhood. It ranges from 0 to 100. The higher the score, the less exposure to poverty. The index is designed to help determine access to economic opportunities.

The Low Poverty index can be an additional dataset to look at when choosing your next site location to determine areas with potential for self-storage demand.

Areas with high poverty are less likely to see job growth and may see decreased self-storage demand.
