This week the Radius+ team dove in the state of Hawaii’s self storage market. For those of you who don’t know- I’m from Hawaii originally and get to go back and visit family every other year if not every year.

Hawaii is a state trying to balance preserving its natural beauty and resources while also creating a sustainable economy and providing affordable housing for its full time residents.

With Hawaii being an archipelago with very little land to add supply on and having so much transient population through tourism, and military personal- Self Storage demand is through the roof in this state as demonstrated by its high price per square ft. From September 21, 2024 to September 21, 2025 the average price per square foot was $3.97 which was a 4% increase from the same dates 2023-2024. (REIT 10×10 CC Rates).
